BACK FROM THE ETERNAL ICE: A WHOLE DAY WITH THE RESEARCHERS
MOSAiC – THE LARGEST ARCTIC EXPEDITION IN HISTORY
One of the most exciting research expeditions in recent history is currently taking place in the Arctic. In September 2019 the research icebreaker Polarstern set sail. The icebreaker was frozen to an ice floe and is now drifting in the Arctic Ocean for a year. On board, scientists from 20 countries are researching and gathering knowledge about the epicenter of global warming.

On 12 October, Polarstern berthed in Bremerhaven again. Only a few days after their expedition, we welcome the researchers in Berlin and arrange a whole day at Futurium with them and many guests. The scientists from all over the world take us with them into the eternal ice, tell us about their experiments and the international cooperation. They give us insights into their research and into life on the ice floe.
