About density and diversity in the city

Just right or too much of everything, Richard Sennett?

Big cities like Berlin are crowded and colourful. While some find the hustle and bustle of the big city alluring, others regard it as a source of conflict – and take it as a reason to retreat from the stresses and strains of urban coexistence. How does a diverse society shape urban coexistence and what opportunities and challenges are associated with it? Join us at this event, which is part of the “Your Emotional City” project, and discuss with Richard Sennet about the effects of rising urban congestion and what diversity means in our cities.
