Drop-in workshop

Family Open Lab – Robots, AI and more: Human beings and machines working as a team

How will human beings and machines work together in the future? Robots, sensors and artificial intelligence are already performing many tasks today – from sorting to navigation. In this open workshop, you will explore what human beings and machines are each good at in their own right and reflect on your own attitude towards technology and AI. See for yourself how robots process information, how they are controlled and how they react to their environment!

Workshop

Further information:

  • Time:12:00
  • Duration:4 hours
  • Meeting Point:Workshop area at Futurium Lab

You can programme, expand and test robots as they carry out small-scale missions – and discover the possibilities they offer, but also their limitations. You will realise that human beings often approach tasks differently: with their own perspectives, judgements and spontaneous reactions. In the Future Ideas workshop, you will develop creative visions of how technology could change our bodies, our everyday lives and our society – and reflect on the possible social and ecological consequences of technological developments.

Unlike our traditional workshops, the drop-in workshop has an open format. We expect you to spend around 20 minutes in the workshop area to get your first taste of the technology involved in this topic of the future. If it is especially busy, it is possible that some participants will be unable to try out all the stations. So keep your options open and get involved in some of the other exciting topics!

We would like to thank the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA (Stuttgart) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Engineering IGP (Rostock) for their support in the development of this workshop.
