Subline: Drop-in-Workshop

Family Open Lab: Smart and sustainable futures for agriculture

What will a farm look like in the future? Perhaps there will be drones flying over the fields, sensors taking various soil readings and artificial intelligence helping to bring in the harvest. You can try out some of these technologies now in our open workshop.

What sounds like science fiction is already a reality in many fields today. Modern technologies such as drones, satellites and sensors help to make effective use of water, fertiliser and energy. Genetically modified seeds also play a role: plants can be made more resistant and yields can be increased. With the Calliope mini and HuskyLens, you can explore how image recognition works and what role artificial intelligence plays in this in our workshop. You can also develop and design your own plants of the future.
