Fit for the Future with Futures Literacy

On 8 October 2022, you can “train” your futures literacy at Futurium. Playful activities such as workshops, guided tours, rallies and speed dating will help visitors discover within themselves – or further sharpen – their skills for tackling the future. On the night before (7 October 2022, 19:00), embedded in the collaboration with the global FORMS network of future-oriented museums, the renowned photographer Sebastião Salgado will be giving a lecture on “How Art Can Empower the Imagination of the Future”.

Berlin Science Week

In November, Futurium will be contributing two events to the Berlin Science Week. Tuija Halttunen’s documentary film “How to Kill a Cloud” is about a Finnish scientist trying to produce rain in the desert of the United Arab Emirates (5 November 2022). For the second event, we will be teaming up with acatech – German Academy of Science and Engineering – to ask young people in an “ideas sprint” how they think spaces and mobility options should be conceived in the future in order for them to be attractive to young people (9 November 2022).

“Your Emotional City”

“Your Emotional City” – Futurium’s joint project with Interdisziplinäres Forum Neurourbanistik e. V., the university hospital Charité and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin – will be continuing with two events on 13 October and 17 November 2022 that will explore the ways in which more green spaces and more art in public spaces affect people’s quality of life.

International Day of People with Disabilities

3 December is the International Day of People with Disabilities. On this day, Futurium will be intensifying its inclusive offerings by means of special formats tailored to the needs of people with disabilities, which will include a guided tour, a workshop and a reading.
