What will be really important to us in the future? The wish list of many people would include more time, justice and greater participation – at least in rich, industrialised countries anyway. Still, we often feel that we have no say. But societal changes are, in fact, often initiated from people like you and me that have a good idea or a concern, that possess a healthy dose of idealism and simply set about doing something. The right amount of possessions, freedom and time is a personal balancing act that must take into account nature and be democratically negotiated. And that is exactly what we should do.
