Nature in conflict
Railways, highways and waterways crisscross the landscape, air routes the sky above. We need transport networks to quickly move from A to B and to transport goods around the world in a short time. The construction and use of these infrastructures encroach massively on nature — with fatal consequences. Natural habitats are fragmented or destroyed and newly introduced animal and plant species can throw entire ecosystems out of balance. We are faced with the question: do we want to put our own need for mobility above the protection of animals and plants?
