Fall in love with the future: you can look deeply into the eyes of possible worlds of the future at our various interactive points. If you’ve got the courage to embrace new ideas and try out a few icebreaker activities, you might just find out what the future has in store for you – and vice versa. The studio on Futurium’s ground floor will be transformed into an experimental laboratory that will invite you to be curious, to experiment and to let yourself be amazed. Drop by and flirt with the future – surprises guaranteed!

You can join in at any time. Allow yourself around 20 minutes to explore the initial points of contact with some fascinating topics of the future. If it’s especially busy, you might not be able to try out every single interactive point. So be flexible and get involved with other exciting topics!

What’s love? Assuming the role of androids, five members of the improvisational theatre group “Improvisionäre” will be looking for answers to one of the most crucial questions facing humanity. And you’ll be acting as their expert advisors! Feed the android’s intelligence with your own secret knowledge. The spontaneous encounters will give rise to profound dialogues about friendship, family, romance and all phases of love – from getting to know each other, to everyday life together, and even on to separation. Find out together what love can encompass, who might be on its receiving end and how we can use it to shape the future.

Flirt differently for once: in our Dating Corner, it’s up to you how the first meeting should go. Engage with the avatars from the improvisational theatre group “Improvisionäre” and stage your dream evening. Whether romantic, humorous or thought-provoking – you can create the scenarios live and interactively. Team up to discover previously unknown facets of love!

In films, love between humans and artificial intelligence has long been played out on screen. But how realistic is it actually? The use of AI is still in its infancy and yet it’s hard to imagine our everyday lives without it. We talk to voice assistants and complain to social chatbots. The step towards actually developing feelings no longer seems so far away. Even more so given that artificial intelligence is increasingly learning to recognise our emotions and simulate its own. What does this mean for us and our feelings? Between algorithms and real emotions, we’ll be exploring the emotional world of the future.

Forget marching music – here come some glittering brass beats! Anyone thinking of military roll calls and volleys of shots will be disappointed. Because the ensemble Fanfare Gertrude will be bringing to Germany the joie de vivre of French street music. With trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, saxophone, tuba and other instruments, more than 25 musicians will be pumping new life into pop and rock songs. It’s going to be loud, colourful and danceable – with no uniforms in sight, but with an abundance of pure fun!

Whether in direct confrontations or anonymous comments sections – the tone’s getting nastier, the heels are being dug in deeper. Our social bubbles reinforce our feeling of being right about everything; empathy and compassion seem to be on the slide. But aren’t they the glue that holds relationships and society together? We’ll look at the topic from a scientific perspective: what’s the difference between compassion and empathy? Why are they important? How can they be researched? And, above all, how can we strengthen them? And we’ll be exploring the effects of empathy on each individual, on relationships and on society – in favour of less “I” and more “we”.

Hightech has long since reached our bedrooms, too. But what about lovemaking with humanoid robots – is this a future vision or current reality? Technical dream or ethical nightmare? We’ll be looking beyond the prejudices and exploring what science has to say about the use and effects of sex robots. How can something so intimate be explored? And do our ideas about relationships, bodies and sexuality change when machines come into play? Let’s talk about sex – with robots!
