Made in Germany Awards

The Made in Germany Awards are a German innovation prize that recognises outstanding projects and inventions which intelligently and sustainably improve our future. We are looking for cutting-edge innovations in the fields of artificial intelligence, medicine, energy, mobility and society that have already proven their worth beyond the concept phase. The grand finale will be a gala awards ceremony in Berlin, which will be streamed live on the Science YouTube channel ‘Breaking Lab’ and reach an audience of millions.

Initiated by science creator Dr Jacob Beautemps (Breaking Lab) and made possible by the German Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovations (SPRIND) and the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, these awards are far more than a traditional science prize. They provide a platform for outstanding German innovations and make them accessible to a broad audience. 

Awards are presented in five categories that will shape the future, recognising projects that have the potential to bring about lasting improvements to our society. A panel of experts from SPRIND and the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space will select three nominees in each category. The public – Germany’s largest science jury – will then decide on the winners.
