Declaration on digital accessibility

Futurium takes seriously the right to equal participation in cultural activities and actively promotes the process towards creating an inclusive programme that involves all its digital offerings.

Testing

As the operator of this website, Futurium gGmbh endeavours to make www.futurium.de accessible to everyone. The legal basis of this endeavour is the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BGG) and the Federal Ordinance on Barrier-free Information Technology (BITV 2.0).

Accessibility

This website is currently undergoing a revision process and will shortly be subjected to testing by external test groups before being continuously adapted on the basis of the resulting findings.
The testing of some of the more recent features has yet to take place.

Content not yet accessible

The following content and functions are currently not fully accessible:

Insufficient Color Contrasts and Readability Issues

Certain text and background combinations may lack sufficient contrast, which can hinder readability for people with visual impairments, especially on the homepage.

Limited Keyboard Navigation
There are indications that full keyboard navigation of the website is not yet guaranteed. This could be problematic for users with motor impairments.

Lack of Text Alternatives for Non-Textual Content
Some images, especially in older blog posts from before 2023, lack alternative text, limiting accessibility for users relying on screen readers.

Incorrectly Named or Misordered Headings
The website contains headings that are either incorrectly named or hierarchically misordered, making it difficult for screen reader users to navigate and understand the content.

PDF Documents Are Not Accessible
The PDF documents available on the website are not accessible and cannot be fully processed by assistive technologies such as screen readers.

Embedded Videos (e.g., in the Blog) May Lack Subtitles
Embedded videos, such as those in the blog, may be published without subtitles, making them inaccessible for users with hearing impairments.

Missing or Unclear Link Descriptions
Many links on the website have missing or unclear descriptions, which significantly hinders navigation for screen reader users.

Missing Explanation of Website Usage in DGS and Easy Language
The website lacks a clear explanation of how to use and navigate it – both in German Sign Language (DGS) and in Easy Language.

We are constantly working to improve these issues.
