Home=City

In some ways people today identify more strongly with their own area, city or neighbourhood than, for example, with the country in which they live. We like a certain way of life, the language or dialect, certain values or even a certain kind of humour. But these same factors can also be the very ones that make it difficult or even impossible for us to feel that we truly belong. This lack of connection can have a devastating impact both on individuals and the social environment, because a sense of belonging is a basic human need.

Reason enough to take a closer look at the phenomenon: how can we influence this sense of belonging for ourselves or others? And why is its influence on our everyday life so powerful? We want to explore these and other questions together with you and our experts.

This event will take place as part of the citizen science project “Your Emotional City”– a joint project of the Interdisziplinäres Forum Neurourbanistik e.V., the university hospital Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlinand Futurium, the House of Futures.
