New Director appointed
Dr. Stefan Brandt will be the new Director of the Futurium. The 41-year-old cultural manager will take over the conceptual leadership of the exhibit, event, and experimental forum starting June 1, 2017.
The Futurium gets a new Director. On June 1, 2017, Dr. Stefan Brandt, currently General Manager and member of the Executive Board of the Hamburger Kunsthalle, will take on the conceptual leadership of the institution. He will be responsible for the exhibition and event programme. Together with the Commercial Managing Director, Nicole Schneider, he will form the Executive Board of the Futurium gGmbH in the future.
The core mission of the Futurium is sparking interest in the future and a desire to help to shape it. His extensive experience in the arts, music, science, economy, and museum management will help Dr. Brandt in his new position to strengthen the outstanding possibilities for interdisciplinary and cross-institutional work, which the Futurium offers, and develop the founding idea of the institution further.
About the Futurium:
The Futurium is the emerging forum for exhibits, experimentation, and events in the heart of Berlin. The institution will be a lively place of dialogue and discussion about the shaping of the future. The Futurium faces the challenges of possible future scenarios and asks: How do we want to live in the future and in what ways will we actually live? What challenges and opportunities are connected with foreseeable developments? How can science and economy, politics and society contribute to understanding, utilizing, and shaping the future? Starting in the summer of 2017, the Futurium will present visionary and doable ideas, innovative and desirable concepts and help us experience them.
