Areas of Tension: Workshop Weeks at the Futurium
From 30 May to 9 June 2018, the Futurium will host its first Workshop Weeks. Under the heading “Areas of Tension. Approaching Possible Futures”, the Futurium will give an insight into its work on the path to its final launch in 2019. Visitors are invited to participate in developing content and creating objects for future exhibitions.
“Working together with the public, we want to try out new formats and develop new content. The Workshop Weeks are all about the major issues of the future, such as digitisation, civic involvement, climate protection and sustainability – always keeping in mind the guiding question ‘How do we want to live?’,” says Dr Stefan Brandt, the Director of the Futurium.
The programme for the Workshop Weeks includes, among other things, new participatory formats, evening debates, artistic projects and interactive offerings for children and young people. The Futurium will round off the event by opening its doors to the public as one of the participants in the Long Night of the Sciences on 9 June. Entry to the Workshop Weeks is free of charge; on the Long Night of the Sciences, regular ticket fees apply.
The opening of the Futurium in its entirety is scheduled for spring 2019.
