Green Cities

If more people move to the cities, either every available space will be developed or the sea of houses will extend out into the surrounding countryside. Either way, green areas will be covered by concrete, which is why we have to bring nature back to the city. Trees, bushes and flowers can grow on rooftops and the walls of buildings, in parking lots and between rail tracks. Plants provide shade and filter harmful substances out of the air while also providing habitats for birds and insects. Whether growing wild or purposefully planted, more greenery in our cities is good for human well-being and for the planet’s climate.
