Answers to the Major Questions of the Future
The future thrives on good ideas – and our speakers will bring along the best ones for you. In our lectures and panel discussions, top-class scientists will offer their answers to the major questions of the future.
Jutta Allmendinger, President of the Berlin Social Science Center, will talk about the wishes, hopes and concerns of the Germans. Christian Schwägerl will debate the concept of responsibility in the emergent epoch. Mobility researcher Stephan Rammler will discuss a world without cars with Norbert Lütke-Entrup, Head of Innovation Management at Siemens. Futurologist Reinhold Popp and robot inventor Frank Kirchner will provide information on the future of robotics. Klaus Töpfer, a former German Federal Minister and one of the earliest advocates for political thinking about the future, will explain why the future only makes sense in the plural.
Discussions and lectures from 11:00 to 20:00 will also deal with the future of the city (with Ina Schieferdecker, Anne-Julchen Bernhardt and Christa Müller), the seabed as a treasure chamber (Antje Boetius) and a world without economic growth (André Reichel and Karen Horn). The day will come to a contemplative conclusion: the historian Lucian Hölscher together with the Mandelring Quartet will present past (musical) visions of the future.
