rbb24 Inforadio FORUM at Futurium

Ignoring agriculture?

They feel that no one’s listening: many farmers are struggling with government regulations, economic constraints and a public that often knows hardly anything at all about agriculture. In our panel discussion, we’ll be debating with experts from agriculture, science, media, politics, and with you, about the current areas of tension – and about possible solutions.

When tractors drive through big cities honking their horns, some people are suddenly struck by the realisation of how great the mutual lack of understanding between farmers, politicians and society has become. But why are so many farmers feeling a growing sense of alienation? How can bridges be built between agricultural reality and different expectations within our society?

Our panel discussion in the “FORUM at Futurium” will shed light on economic, social and communicative aspects in order to explore common ways of achieving better understanding. Discuss with Harald Asel the current areas of tension – and possible approaches to developing a more sustainable agriculture that is accepted by society. How can a constructive dialogue successfully bring together the diverging wishes within society and the different forms of agricultural production?

“FORUM at Futurium” is a joint event of rbb24 Inforadio and Futurium, the House of Futures.
