Global challenges such as the climate crisis, growing social inequality and life in an interconnected world are putting a strain on democracies around the globe. Such challenges demand new answers and innovative approaches, and they’re putting the future viability of democracies to the test. At the same time, minority rights, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, and the democratic model of society as such, are under threat all over the world.

In order to secure any sort of democratic future, we must not only change and further develop democracy, but must also protect and defend it.

Louis Klamroth, host of the TV show “Hart aber Fair” (Hard but Fair), will be asking our guests how democracy can become more sustainable, how we can protect democratic foundations while pursuing innovative approaches – and what each and every one of us can contribute in this regard.
