Look behind the scenes on International Museums Day

How we shape the future

On 15 May, museums celebrate International Museums Day - and you can join in! Join our tour through the Futurium Lab and take a look behind the scenes of our exhibition together with the curators. All those who are not on site in Berlin are cordially invited to take part in two digital tours. After a long period of closure, more than 600 museums nationwide are once again offering the museum experience, exchange and encounters on site.

Our programme at a glance

Here you can find our programme on the International Museums Day page. We will be there for you from 10:00 to 18:00. You don't need tickets, admission to the museum is free. If you would like to take part in the guided tours, it is best to register in advance.

For those at Futurium:

13:00-14:00
Behind the scenes: How do I exhibit something that doesn't exist yet? (in German)
Guided tour of the exhibition by the curator
Is it possible to exhibit the future? After all, we can't see it, feel it, smell it. Even the 3-day weather forecast is often not reliable, despite complicated forecast diagrams. The future is omnipresent and yet remains a vague quantity. In this guided tour of the exhibition, the curators will give you an insight into their work.

15:00-15:45
A journey through the Futurium Lab (in German)
We invite you to experience the showcase in the Futurium Lab as part of a guided tour. If you are now asking yourself "What is the Futurium Lab and what is a Showcase?", then you have come to the right place! In this guided tour, Stefanie Holzheu, speaker Futurium Lab, will answer your questions and give you a very special insight into the topics and background of the Futurium Lab.
